Hi, my name is Gary, and I love to TRAVEL!! Traveling is my addiction, but it is fulfilling to me be able to learn about everyone on this earth, and how they live their lives and to engage in their cultures and customs. I have always been interested in learning about other cultures, seeing new places, and trying to be a local of that place I visit; but when we are being tourists, we should all try to assimilate and try to respect their practices within their culture and customs. Some things maybe different than what we do or grew up knowing, but we should respect their culture and lands. As I travel a lot, I research equally a lot, so I can be prepared for things that maybe one wouldn't expect to come expect!
My travel experiences have been vast throughout my life, but I can thank my parents for getting me started with domestic travel around my home country, the United States of America. Taking a pack of 6 kids in a Ford Econoline van across the USA has fueled a flurry of memories and experiences that only one can cherish and hold onto forever. Even though I don't probably remember every trip 100%, I remember important details and events; from breaking down in the van in the LA traffic (breaks went out), to smelling the desert creosote, and seeing a monsoon coming in Tucson, to waking up to mom filling up gas in what would appear to be probably not the best area of town; All of these things are experiences, which have provided me with a good base to grow upon. My parents gave us the opportunity to do it all if we wanted, I think I have now realized the only thing I want to do is travel.
I had thought for a while about doing a blog and website, but the main question was how, why, and what would it look like? I am not one of those types to selfie my way through every trip or get in video to talk about something. If a picture is worth a thousand words, why do I need to speak on a video. I want you to experience everything I do, but I want you to experience also in your own way that is best for you!
Everyone now days owns a cell phone with a great camera and is a blogger, influencer, travel writer, and most importantly-a critic. While I have seen a number of different sites and forums for bloggers, I don't follow many. My format of blogging will be mostly pictures and some video media. Also, most of my pictures will not be filtered or altered as I want to give and show you the real location as it is, not as we imagine it. I also want to note that many places can provide good and bad experiences, but my blog will not be a way to belittle a restaurant, hotel, or anyone running a business. Although, I may in fact offer advice in post of how to avoid something that could lead to a bad experience, but I can't in fairness advise how to get anything for free.
On a final note, THANK YOU so much for reading and exploring my site; I hope I can find ways to inspire you to get out of your home base or bubble, and explore the world. There is so much to do and see and really little time to wait to do it. Even though this website is about me, I will encourage you to find places and send me your stories, experiences and pictures. With your permission as well, I may post them in a section on my blog somewhere in the future. Even if you are reading this and are prideful of where you live, shoot me an email and I will maybe get to experience your city or country as I am always looking for locals to show me around. Thankfully with Google Translate and many other apps, we can all share in other cultures. My travels have taught me one thing. People are prideful of where they live, and they have many good reasons why! My travels mostly focus on the international community outside of the USA.
Lastly, if you think you might enjoy my content or stories, sign up for my newsletter. My intentions for this newsletter will be to inform you of my trips that I just took or maybe something new on my site. Do not expect this to be an email spam system! Whenever you want to go and travel, come check out my site and Travel-via-Me!
